My name is M. R. I am a volunteer at Camp Atterbury. Your box of wonderful hats, mittens and scarves came through my hands for sorting before distribution to our (yours and mine) Afghani guests. Every piece was beautifully made. Just exquisite works of true craftsmanship. I called several volunteers over to join me in admiring the items. They agreed that the work you do is expert! Please know how much we appreciate the box you sent. It will all go to where it is much needed.

I just received one of your care packages and shared it with my deployed teammates. Everyone loves the box and we truly appreciate everything that
you do for the troops.This is my fifth deployment and I can say that packages like the one(s) that I received today just light up a room. Too often, we are caught up in what the mission is down here and we tend to get tunnel vision. It is nice to know that we have people back home that care about us.

“To Whom it May Concern,
This letter is long overdue. Busy Hands of Michiana has been an organization that has reached many families I serve in Berrien County, Michigan. I am an Occupational Therapist and I will forever be grateful for the weighted blankets, vests and stuffed toys they make.
As a therapist, I serve children with special needs. The children have difficulty sleeping. The weighted blankets help them get to sleep and stay asleep. The blankets help the children sleep, and in turn, let’s the parents sleep. With sleep, the kids are happier and their lives are effectively changed for the better.
Weighted vests help children with Autism. They have difficulty focusing during the day and the weighted vests help focus during learning activities. Weighted stuffed toys are used for comfort and help them during transitions or when they are having difficulty.
The families I serve do not have the financial resources to purchase this equipment despite research that supports the use of appropriate weights for children with special needs. Due to Busy Hands of Michiana, I am able to help the parents and children I serve with no cost to them.
The ladies who make the blankets are kind and the product is so nice. So, thank you. To all who make this organization operate, for all the hard work and care that goes in to the product, the families and I thank you.”

“ I did not know about this group until I received a call from my son’s OT who works with him at his school. I am SO thankful for this group and the weighted blanket they lovingly made and gave to him. We used to fight with him nightly to take off a few of the 7-8 blankets he would use at night, due to the fact that he would overheat and end up making himself sick. He now has a weighted blanket that allows him to use only one blanket to sleep. He is no longer coming out of his room in the middle of the night drenched and sick. I really appreciate the work that went into this blanket and the fact that it was made available to him. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!” KNC
