Our profound thanks go to the Pokagon Band Fund for a $2,000.00 grant to Busy Hands. The charitable grant allowed us to buy hex nuts to be used as weights for the weighted vests we make for autistic children.  The hex nuts are sewn into fabric pouches that are placed in interior pockets of the vest.  A Doctor or Occupational Therapist prescribes the vest.  The vest is weighted specific to the child. (5% of their body weight.)  Weighted vests provide comfort and a calming effect on a child with sensory issues.

Pokagon Fund’s generous grant to Busy Hands will provide us with the necessary weights for the over 200 weighted vests we expect to give out in 2025.
